Dockermachine Error Could Not Find Matching Ip For Mac

At times, Mac assigns itself an IP address, which prevents the Internet from working. Even if the computer is connected to Wi-Fi network, you won’t be able to use the Internet. To fix Internet not working error due to the self-assigned IP address on Mac, you will have to wipe out some files.

Don’t worry the process isn’t quite lengthy and works reliably. The other day, I encountered this same issue and was able to troubleshoot it by following this trick.

Internet Not Working Due to Self-Assigned IP Address on Mac: How to Fix the Issue

Also removed default docker-machine on existing set up after the new installation failed by doing docker-machine rm default Also, one thing to notice that when I do a clean install, I can see that when I fire up the docker quickstart for the first time it starts everything from the scratch except one thing. I had considered that one as well. It is picking up 192.168.2.1 as the DHCP server, but we do not have a 192.168.2.1 on the network anywhere. There's your rogue dhcp server there. Check the arp/mac address and find out which port it's down on the switches and physically trace that - or its a VM somewhere but equally you'll find via the mac address.

Step #1. Launch finder on your Mac.

Step #2. Now, click on Macintosh HD.

Step #3. Now, you need to click on the Library folder and head over to Preferences.

Step #4. Next, click on the System Configuration folder.

Step #5. Next up, you have to move the following files in the trash.

  • com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
  • com.apple.network.identification.plist
  • NetworkInterfaces.plist

Step #6. Finally, restart your Mac.

Note: If Macintosh HD is not available in the Finder sidebar, click on the Finder menu → Preferences → click on the “Sidebar” tab → Under “Show these items in the sidebar” click on “Hard disks.”

That’s done!

After your computer has restarted, self-assigned IP address issue will be gone, and you will be able to use the Internet without any problem.
